System Administrator for General Dynamics Information Technology in Durham, North Carolina (salary not disclosed)
GDIT is seeking an System Administrator to provide support for the Defense Enterprise Office Solution (DEOS) Cloud Service Offering contract. This position is a hybrid position that requires both on-site and remote duties.
The System Administrator will serve as technology expert and manage Enterprise IT Systems to enable highly available and secure services between on-premise datacenter capabilities and cloud services. Additional responsibilities include:
- Provides guidance on installation, configuration and maintenance of virtual hosts, operating systems, applications and databases.
- Maintains ownership of high availability, high security IT operations.
- Troubleshoots hardware, network, storage, virtualization, software and application issues to identify bottleneck in operations and provides recommendations to ensure optimum performance and continuity of critical systems.
- Utilizes technical area expertise to assess the operational and/or technical baseline of an organization as specifically associated with its functional components.
- Monthly Microsoft patching (OS, apps, desktop, and server) - Maintain both WSUS servers, Download and test updates on unclassified systems before importing onto classified WSUS. Update CCB documentation in reference to patching OS
- Monthly Application patching (Adobe, Java, etc.) - Download and test updates on unclassified systems before installing onto classified systems. Update CCB documentation in reference to application patching
- Monthly AV updates - Download AV updates from McAfee site, upload into EPO server. Review EPO server, confirm that all agents are reporting back and functional, report and resolve any issues
- Monthly Review and update firmware on switches - Update CCB documentation in reference to any updates for switches
- Complete Monthly vulnerability scans (SCAP)
- Assist ISSM with STIGviewer scans based on STIGs and SCAP findings (manual check) update POAM with any information
- Assist in Continuous Monitoring (ConMon) of security controls (weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual) as applicable
- Data Transfer Agent (DTA) duties
- Primary POC for DTA activities
- Move data files to the system when necessary
- Disable drives upon completion
- Track movements in the data transfer log
- Tracking of ISSM authorized modifications in maintenance log
- Account creation and assignment to groups
- Account issues/unlock – primary POC for account related issues
- Building any additional desktops and servers as requested
- Respond to any issues reported by system users
